Dr Stanley Yip Delivered Capacity Building Course on Sustainable Procurement in NUS

Upon the invitation by the National University of Singapore, Dr Stanley Yip delivered capacity building course on on sustainable procurement to two cohorts from the Central Procurement Office at NUS. The focus is to equip the procurement teams in NUS with the needed expertise and knowledge on sustainable procurement practices such as qualifying the suppliers, assessing the carbon footprints of products and the implementation of a sustainable procurement framework for institutes of higher learning. The course was delivered through the NUS Institute of System Services.


Using the expertise of Dr. Yip in decarbonization and sustainability, specific focus of the course included the management of scope 3 emissions and the supply chains,  as well as the identification of sources of databases and principles of carbon accounting to support the procurement team in developing ability to assess the sustainability data and information provided by the suppliers .


The course included workshop on assessing the environmental impacts and carbon footprints of real life NUS selected procurement orders for services or products.
